Located in the city of Agra, in the Northern part of India and little away from New Delhi, the capital city, Taj Mahal is one of the greatest architectural specimens and one of the seven wonders of the world. Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz, Taj Mahal is not only a monument but a wonderful creation that introduce people with the great sense of art and architecture of the Mughals. Built entirely with superior quality marble stones, the Taj Mahal is a piece of absolute beauty. For ages, the beauty of Taj Mahal has been attracting millions of tourists from all corners of the globe and once you are inside this great monument, you would surely go spellbound. Looking at the Taj Mahal you might feel that it is not a creation of human being and it was God who has just placed on the earth. That is why the monument has been included in UNESCO's list of World Heritage Site, which can be said to be the real tribute to the architects of Taj Mahal who made it absolutely amazing.

Appointed by the then Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, the architects of Taj Mahal were some of the greatest artisans and sculptors of that time. Not only did the architects of Taj Mahal made the exterior of the monument wonderful but their great sense of art and architecture is clearly evident from the interior of the monument, the designing and the writing on the stone pillars.
It is still not clearly known how many people worked on the construction of this wonderful monument, but Ustad Isa, a Persian architect is considered to be the chief architect of Taj Mahal. However, a recent survey has indicated that it was not Ustad Isa, but a person named Ustad Ahmad Lahauri who led the team of architects of Taj Mahal. Lutfullah Muhandis, the son of Ustad Ahmad Lahauri also claimed the same in writings.
