If you ask anyone, he or she will quickly answer that Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world. But why is it has been enlisted in the list of seven wonders? The answer is its architecture. Located in the city of Agra in the Northern part of India, Taj Mahal is one of the greatest architectural specimens in the entire world. Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jehan in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz, Taj Mahal is a wonderful marble monument that has been attracting millions of tourists from all corners of the globe for ages. Taj Mahal architecture is one of the most unique among all monuments in the world and make people spellbound. It is too difficult to find people who have not been struck by silence after watching Taj Mahal architecture.
Apart from breathtaking beauty, Taj Mahal architecture attracts people for various reasons. Taj Mahal architecture is the greatest specimen of combination of Mughal architecture with traditional Muslim, Italian and Persian architecture. Speaking about Taj Mahal architecture we need to mention about its architects. Though it is still not clear how many artisans worked in the Taj project and who was led the great team of such skilled and efficient artisans, there are some speculations about the chief architect of Taj Mahal. Earlier it was considered, a person named Ustad Isa, who was either a Persian or Turkish architect was selected by Shah Jahan to design and overlook the construction of Taj Mahal but based on a claim made in writing but a person named Lutfullah Muhandis, his father, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri was the chief architect of Taj Mahal.
However, the only thing that is beyond any contradiction and hopefully will remain so is the uniqueness and breathtaking beauty of Taj Mahal architecture.
