Located in the city of Agra, Taj Mahal is one of the greatest landmarks of India. Situated on the bank of River Yamuna, Taj Mahal is one of the greatest architectural creations on the surface of the earth and one of the seven wonders of the world. The breathtaking beauty of this amazing marble monument has turned it into the most popular tourist destination in India. Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the mid 17th century, Taj Mahal is a wonderful specimen of the combination of Mughal architecture with Persian, Italian and typical Muslim architecture. Covering a huge area, the magnificent Taj Mahal has been attracting millions of national and international tourists for ages. Then architecture of the main building, the gateway, the mosque, rest house, the tombs inside the main building introduce people with the sense of art and architecture among the Mughals and their different social traditions. But apart from that the huge garden, which is called the Taj Garden is also a major attraction of Taj Mahal.

The area of Taj Garden is huge and is home to a wide variety of trees and plants. Taj Garden is set around a huge 300 meter square charbagh and is a typical Mughal garden. Raised pathways have divided the area of Taj Garden into four quarters of same size and each quarter comprises four parterres or flowerbeds. Right in the center of Taj Garden which is just halfway between the tomb and the main gateway, there is a marble water tank called al Hawd al-Kawthar and a beautiful pool on North-South axis where a wonderful reflection of Taj Mahal is seen.
Apart from that you would also get to see with several avenues of fountains and trees. The design of Taj Garden is deeply inspired by Persian gardens, which was first introduced in India by Babur, the first Mughal emperor to invade the country.
